PenTools is available in the form of a FoxPro for Windows FLL. PenTools includes over 100 functions callable directly from FoxPro that interface with the Windows for Pen API. Developers can turn on/off handwriting recognition and change dictionaries and recognizes at the field level, and create 'inking' fields to allow capture of signatures, drawings, etc. Other capabilities include printing support, access to Pen-Windows data structures, user-defined gestures (commands given by certain strokes of the pen), and scaling functions.

To get started with PenTools, you need Windows 3.1 or Windows for Pen Computing, FoxPro for Windows, a computer which complies with FoxPro's requirements, a VGA monitor and a Microsoft compatible mouse or pointing device.
